Florida Gulf Coast University is pleased to announce its Aligned Institution status and Recertification Provider status with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the world’s largest association devoted to human resource management, to offer programs that qualify for recertification credits for the SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP®) and SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP®) credentials. As a member of the SHRM Recertification Provider network, Florida Gulf Coast University will be able to award professional development credits (PDCs) for its programs that relate to the SHRM Body of Applied Skills and Knowledge™ (SHRM BASK™). “The Society for Human Resource Management welcomes the opportunity to partner with Florida Gulf Coast University to provide quality educational opportunities to support the recertification efforts of HR professionals who have attained their SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certifications,” said Alex Alonso, SHRM-SCP, SHRM’s Chief Knowledge Officer. “We are thrilled to receive this recognition from SHRM,” said Dr. Chris Westley, Dean of the Lutgert College of Business at Florida Gulf Coast University. “This alignment with SHRM's globally recognized standards reinforces our commitment to delivering high-quality, relevant education in human resource management and leadership. The Southwest Florida Leadership Institute in partnership with the Leadership Collier Foundation, bolstered by the support of a $22.9 million grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce's Economic Development Administration (EDA), Is proud to present our fall series on “Intelligences in the Workplace.” This series delves into the critical roles of cultural, emotional, and cognitive intelligence in the workplace, emphasizing their distinct and synergistic impacts on professional success. Participants will explore practical strategies for developing these intelligences, illustrated through real-world examples and interactive activities. By the end of the series, attendees will be equipped with the tools to enhance their interpersonal and cognitive skills, fostering a more effective and harmonious work environment. By addressing critical areas in human resources management, talent acquisition, and leadership development, the workshop series aligns with the mission of the Southwest Florida Equitable Jobs Pipeline to cultivate a skilled workforce and drive economic prosperity in the region.
