Economic Impact Study
Economic impact studies are typically used to assess the impact of an event or shock
on the local economy. Examples of local events or shocks include the introduction
of a new firm or industry, the expansion of a current firm or industry, changes in
spending patterns, or changes in labor income. Using this information, the RERI research
team is able to estimate the different effects of such an event on the local economy,
including local, state and federal taxes.
Basic economic impact studies include the following:
