The Office of the General Counsel (GCO) Represents the Florida Gulf Coast University Board of Trustees and Provides Legal Services to the University, the Florida Gulf Coast University Foundation, Inc., and the Florida Gulf Coast University Financing Corporation.

Mission
The mission of the Office of the General Counsel is to support the strategic plan of Florida Gulf Coast University by providing legal services to the University community and its direct support organizations. These services are offered proactively whenever possible to help establish principles that facilitate the achievement of University-wide goals. Legal services provided by the General Counsel’s Office include assistance with contract review and other commercial activities, interlocal agreements, student disciplinary issues, the development of policies and regulations, and potential adversarial proceedings (judicial or administrative).
