BigBlueButton 3.0 is now Available in Canvas!

Blindside Networks has released a new version of BigBlueButton.

Here's a summary of the new features:

New chat features: edit, delete, emojis, and reply
New display of poll results as graphs
New whiteboard shapes and highlight tool
New buttons: Raise Hand and Leave
Session information moved to the top

For benefits, this update increases the educator and student engagement with chat, polling, and whiteboard, as well as improves the usability of common operations -- raise hand and leave -- and make it easier to find the welcome message by clicking the meeting title (no more scrolling through chat).

How do I know if I have the new version?

When you start BigBlueButton, you'll see a new leave button (in red) at the top right of the interface.

bbb You can also click the three dots and select "About" to see the version number (at the time of this blog post, it should be 3.0.1).

Will this new release require training?

We do not expect any new training is required.
