This first step is to have an interest in providing an enriching experience for students and bring in fresh perspectives and talent to your company! Then while developing your internship program, please be sure to refer to our checklist of critical components of internships (above on this page!), which are required to promote an opportunity through our institution. Once your opportunity meets these requirements, you can advertise your position opening on Eagle Career Network, which can potentially reach our entire student body.

There are many ways to recruit FGCU students! For the most updated list of career events, please visit the Career Development Services Events website or contact careercenter@fgcu.edu. In addition, you can be the first to hear about recruiting opportunities through quarterly emails by creating an employer profile on Eagle Career Network.

Internship are not required to be paid; however, we encourage you to explore all options to compensate your intern for the substantial contribution we hope they will make. Compensation ranges vary based on the field of employment, as well as the experience level of the candidate and academic qualifications. Providing students with a competitive hourly salary prior to graduation helps to secure future full time hires that are effective in your organization and their role.

Service-learning hours can be offered by eligible nonprofit and government agency community partners. Please contact the FGCU Office of Service Learning & Civic Engagement to discuss this opportunity.

Course credit can only be earned by a student’s enrollment in an FGCU internship course taken concurrently with their internship experience. Because of this, credit cannot be offered or promised by employers and should not be included as part of the recruitment or hiring process. Please refer any student interested in earning course credit to their Academic Advisor and Internship Coordinator.
