FGCU launches new Employee Milestone Recognition Program

FGCU is celebrating you! As part of the university’s commitment to enhancing its work culture, FGCU has revamped its Employee Milestone Recognition Program.
Developed by Human Resources and Business Services, the program is designed to celebrate the incredible dedication and hard work of employees as they reach significant milestones in their careers at FGCU.
Employees will be recognized at key milestone years – 1, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30. Employees will receive certificates from their supervisors and an envelope with instructions on how to pick up their milestone gift.
Each milestone year will be celebrated with a specially selected, branded gift and acknowledgment from the university.
Gifts by milestone year
Milestone recognitions will occur by the anniversary month of when the employee was hired.
Not only does the initiative celebrate employees, it also contributes to FGCU’s Journey to Excellence. “In support of Goal 4 in our strategic plan, celebrating longevity, contributions and growth fosters a sense of community and builds a positive and cohesive culture,” said Jana Sabo, assistant director of employee relations and employee development. “It also supports the ongoing development of our employees, ensuring FGCU’s long-term success while promoting retention, leadership and a commitment to the shared goals of the organization.”
FGCU also understands the importance of recognizing all employees’ milestones, including those who have recently reached a milestone year. With this in mind, FGCU will also honor employees with a special gift that represents the most recent milestone they have achieved. For example, an employee who has reached their seventh year with FGCU would receive recognition for their fifth-year milestone.
