Academic Affairs Updates

Restructuring and redefining of decision-making processes within AA.

Dean’s Council is the decision-making body in collaboration with Provost’s Council.

Provost’s Council focused on more administrative functions and implementation and strategic alignment.

Academic Affairs Leadership Team has been expanded to include Associate Deans, Chairs, VP SSEM, AVPs with the intent to be an information sharing body and to engage in dialog across campus leadership at all levels. Not an official decision-making body.

Student Success Council and Academic Implementation Team are focused more on data and strategy implementation for PBF metrics.

APDR Process now in Interfolio

Reminder that APDR will now be submitted through Interfolio. APDR drafts are due in March, but there are ongoing training opportunities remaining in December and into the Spring semester to assist with how to use the dossier and activity reporting. Taking a bit of time early will go a long way to prepare you for submitting your APDR, so please take advantage.

Simple Syllabus

The university is looking for better solutions for syllabus management and is looking at a Canvas integration called Simple Syllabus. This is used by several other SUS institutions and may solve several of the issues we face regarding requirements for syllabus posting, reporting, and updates. Institutional Affairs Team has reviewed this product and solicited faculty feedback. There will be an open forum in early January for faculty discussion and feedback prior to moving forward. Be on the lookout for additional information.
