TITLE: Getting to Know You
In two different sessions, we paired COE final level student teachers with a group of student teachers in Hungary to exchange professional and personal dialog about the use of strategies that promoted engagement and differentiation, so that all students could access course content. It was an exchange across cultural milieu.
Professional topics for discussion included: Differentiated Instruction, Managing Conflicts and behavior, Discovering how to arouse student interest, and Building safe open-minded classrooms.
Personal topics included: their educational experience, personal interests, pop culture, social media, future plans, and questions about the other country.

The students will be able to find similarities and differences between the two countries/cultures regarding both personal and professional topics impacting education.
Participating Countries: USA and Hungary
Number of FGCU and Partner Institution Student Participants: Approximately 30 FGCU students and 25 Hungarian students participated in the project.

Project Duration: We held two 90 min sessions in fall 23 having half of the students from each country participating each time so that there was more opportunity to interact in small groups. Prior to the students meeting, the professors held two virtual meetings to meet one another and plan the project.
