TITLE: Cultural dimensions of well-being: Perspectives of American and Spanish students on Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL)
The COIL project between CEU Cardenal Herrera University in Castellón and Florida Gulf Coast University offered an enriching intercultural exchange focused on well-being. Students from Spain and the U.S. collaborated virtually in a series of structured activities aimed at exploring cultural differences in the perception of well-being. The project included individual video reflections, group discussions, and the creation of an infographic and explanatory video. These activities were design to foster teamwork, linguistic proficiency (in English and Spanish), and digital literacy. Participants critically analyzed diverse perspectives on well-being, investigated cultural influences, and reflected on their concepts of this topic. Challenges such as time zone differences, language barriers, and technical issues were addressed, with proposals for improvement aimed at enhancing future collaborative experiences. The initiative promoted quality education, language exposure, and digital empowerment, to equip students with the skills necessary for intercultural competence in a globalized world.
