TITLE: Collaborative Assignment on data analytics with Chilean Faculty and students


Project Description:

Project involves developing an assignment on port logistic data analytics with Chilean faculty partners and have FGCU UG students collaborate with Chilean UG students to work on the assignment, compare and exchange their analysis results of the data and visuals created. As part of the COIL project, Chilean partner also presented the logistics material virtually to FGCU students during our class time. Students are graded separately by their instructors, but on a similar rubric. FGCU students presented the assignment results in class and prepared a report of their data analysis. FGCU students also provided reflections on their collaboration with Chilean students.


Resulting Scholarship:

In the works. A comparison of two sections with and without COIL experience.


Student Learning Outcomes:

1-The students will be able to understand port logistics big data and analysis of data in depth and from its origin.

2- Students will grasp better the complexity of global trade.

3-Students will be able to understand the cultural and language differences when collaborating.


Participating Countries: USA and Chile


Number of FGCU and Partner Institution Student Participants:

FGCU: 40 students working in groups of 4.

Universidad de los Andes students: 4 students collaborated with various FGCU student teams
