COIL Faculty Fellows, with professional development and support from the Global Engagement Office, provide enriching intercultural academic opportunities for students across the university. COIL experiences can enhance students' intercultural competence and can deepen their learning of course content. FGCU students' have benefitted from course-based experiences in various disciplines, including language and literature, computing and software engineering, ecology and environmental studies, instructional design, teacher preparation, chemistry, business, and education research with other university students in countries such as Italy, Hungary, Chile, Ecuador, Bolivia, France, Switzerland, Brazil, Thailand, and South Korea. FGCU's Global Engagement Office is committed to providing intercultural experiences to students, and COIL is a beneficial and cost-effective way to maximize students' opportunities.
