Group Fitness Classes are Free for Currently Enrolled FGCU Students, And faculty/staff with memberships. All Classes Are Drop-in and Take Place in the University Recreation & Wellness Center Group Fitness Studios or Outside When Indicated. Registration is Made Available 24 Hours in Advance on the FGCU Go App.

Self Defense Series

In this special series, participants will learn the basic skills of self defense such as getting away from an attacker, protecting yourself, and safely falling to the ground! Register for each session 24 hours in advance through the Rec Store.

Heels Hip Hop

Heels Hip Hop is a fun and exciting workout to express yourself in the form of dance! Heels are not required to participate. Register for each class 24 hours in advance through the Rec Store.

Veteran's Day Murph Challenge

Thursday, November 7

5:00pm - 7:00pm

URWC Rec Deck

Honor our veterans with a great workout! The Murph is a workout to honor Lt. Michael Murphy, who gave his life in the Afghanistan war for his comrades. The workout includes:

  • 1 mile run
  • 100 pull ups
  • 200 pushups
  • 300 squats
  • another 1 mile run

Additionally, there is a half version and regressions available for any ability level interested in participating. Walk-ups are welcome, but you are also encouraged to register on the Rec Store!
