The Resident Assistant (RA) position is pivotal in creating a positive on-campus living experience and plays a key role in Housing & Residence Life. As an RA, you will build community, foster relationships, and help residents connect with each other and the FGCU community through one-on-one conversations and large-scale events. Utilizing our Residential Curriculum you will design engaging programs that foster developmental experiences for our Residents in the areas of Self Awareness, Community Engagement, Sustainability, and Equity. The RA role offers the chance to develop your leadership, gain valuable mentorship experience, and acquire skills that are useful for future careers. By becoming an RA, you will immerse yourself in campus life and make a meaningful impact on others!

Qualifications

RA candidates must have a cumulative and semester 2.50 GPA and be in good conduct standing with FGCU. Experience living on campus is a plus but is not a requirement for applying for an RA position.

RAs must be able to commit to the full academic year (fall and spring semesters).

Must have been an FGCU student for at least one semester before beginning the position​.

Compensation

RAs receive housing at no cost. RAs are compensated via stipend and can work additional hours than the expected amount at the front desk for additional compensation which is paid an hourly wage. The stipend amount is determined by years of service.
