Motorized Water Sports

If you are a current FGCU Student with a valid Eagle ID you are welcome to ride on our Heyday wake boat. There are slots open to students three days a week. Each student can sign up for one 30-minute boat slot once every two weeks. If you have any questions, call the Waterfront at 239-590-1871 during business hours.

Boating privileges are for students with active Eagle ID’s only. Guests of students are welcome to ride along in the boat, but they cannot participate in any boating activity, including but not limited to: tubing, wakeboarding, wake skating, water skiing, etc.

FGCU’s Waterfront at Lake Como is the designated swimming and sunbathing area for students. It is not intended for public use.

WATERFRONT EQUIPMENT RENTAL

Paddleboards, kayaks and sailboats are available for checkout at the Waterfront, and are free with an Eagle ID and valid University Recreation & Wellness membership.

- Only current FGCU students or faculty/staff with a membership may check out waterfront equipment.
- Participants may only check out one boat per Eagle ID, but some boats may carry more than one person.
- Equipment reservations cannot be made, and operates on a first come, first served basis.
- All watercraft must stay within the sight of the lifeguards, they may not go down any canals or under any bridges, and may not beach anywhere except near the FGCU dock.
- Life jackets must be worn and zipped up at all times.
- Equipment may not be checked out when there is lightning within 10 miles of the waterfront.
- Damaged equipment may result in replacement charges or suspension of privileges.
