Possession, Service, or Consumption of Alcohol The possession, service, or consumption of Alcoholic Beverages such as beer, wine,
and distilled spirits on University Premises shall be in accordance with federal,
state, and local law. This Regulation provides for the possession, service, or consumption
of Alcoholic Beverages on University Premises by members of the University Community
as well as individuals and groups outside the University Community.
Alcohol Policy: Possession, Service, or Consumption of Alcoholic Beverages at University Functions.
Amplified Sound Policy. Any use of sound amplification equipment in the outdoor areas of campus must follow
the Sound Amplification Guidelines available through the Office of Campus Reservations.
Solicitation on Campus. The distribution of materials or handouts on campus for the purpose of solicitation
shall be done in accordance with University regulations and this Policy.
Public Exhibition of Boxing, Martial Arts, or Other Fighting Policy
Public Expression and Assembly. The freedom of speech and assembly guaranteed by the Constitutions of the United
States and the State of Florida shall be enjoyed by all members of the University
community. It is the intent of the University to encourage a free discourse of ideas
while maintaining the safe and normal operations of campus life and education. To
that end, this Regulation provides some time, place and manner parameters on campus
expression.
Chosen First Name. FGCU is committed to using and adapting processes to use a Chosen First Name where
feasible and when the use of the Legal Name is not required to comply with laws and
FGCU rules, policies, or regulations. Any faculty, staff, or student may elect to
identify a Chosen First Name and chosen pronoun in addition to their Legal Name
Each college shall establish an Academic Grade Appeals Committee whenever required
for the purposes of this rule.
If dissatisfied with the College Dean’s decision, the student may, within ten (10)
school days, file a written request for review with the Provost stating the basis
for review and the resolution sought by the student.

Sex Discrimination and Sexual Misconduct Policy: FGCU is committed to maintaining an objective, civil, diverse and supportive community,
free of coercion, bias, hate, intimidation, dehumanization or exploitation.
Smoke Free and Tobacco Free Campus. Florida Gulf Coast University has a vital interest in maintaining a safe and healthy
environment for our University Community. To this end, the University has become a
smoke-free and tobacco-free campus. establishing a smoke-free and tobacco-free campus
will contribute to the University’s efforts to keep clean the grounds and air that
support FGCU’s commitment to a sustainable environment.
Title IX Statement: Title IX is a federal civil rights law that prohibits discrimination based on sex
at all institutions that received federal financial assistance. This includes sexual
