Dear Colleagues,

I’m writing to provide an update to my email on November 5 regarding the ongoing collaboration of Student Success & Enrollment Management with Academic Affairs to enhance FGCU’s capacity to proactively support students by identifying those who may need additional assistance and providing them with a comprehensive support system.

We’ve carefully considered your feedback on the existing Early Alert system, and I’m excited to share we are launching a new platform: Wings Up for Student Success. This platform is a comprehensive customer relationship management system designed exclusively for higher education, and it will serve as an all-in-one solution to identify at-risk students and provide academic support services, outreach and intervention through graduation. More details will be shared with colleges and departments, but I’m pleased to report that more than 50 enhancements to the previous system have already been implemented, with a clear roadmap for further improvements. I want to extend my sincere thanks to the faculty and staff who have provided input on the current system. Your contributions combined with Provost Barringer’s leadership in expanding the use of Canvas — supported by a vote of approval from Faculty Senate — demonstrate our collective commitment to creating people-centered systems.

In alignment with this commitment, I’m also pleased to announce that Dr. Allison Bacigalupi has taken on the role of senior director of Retention & Graduation Services. Many of you know her from her work in various roles at FGCU, including most recently as the director of Exploratory Advising in University Advising Services.

To further support the scaling of Wings Up for Student Success, the university has allocated funding from the most recent legislative budget request to add two new coordinator positions to Retention & Graduation. We will begin searches for these roles immediately.

Happy New Year and best wishes for the spring 2025 semester!

As stated in our strategic plan, FGCU supports students with integrated services to bolster academic achievement and wellness.

As we continue on our journey to excellence in our academic year, we will provide updates through short videos that include highlights of all the wraparound services that are available to students. At FGCU, we intend to engender a powerful sense of belonging for students so they can connect immediately to campus through vibrant student-life programs. Our outstanding academic advising helps students connect quickly with their major, where a strong emphasis in experiential learning complements classroom instruction. Support services offered through many offices help students persist and ultimately graduate in a timely manner.

We hope that you will watch the video below – and the videos that will come your way in the coming weeks – to (re)acquaint you with these services and learn about new initiatives we are implementing to promote student success. More importantly, we hope you will come by and visit these offices and share ideas about the best ways we can work together to achieve student success.

Dear FGCU Students, Faculty & Staff,

It’s that time of year again! Student Success & Enrollment Management is accepting applications for the 2025 FGCU Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame is the highest recognition given to student leaders at FGCU.

Students, click here to apply. Faculty and staff, you are an important part of this process too. If you know of a student who might be a great fit, please encourage them to apply.  See the attached flyer for more details.


Hall of Fame applications are due electronically on or before 11:59 p.m. Friday, February 28, via Eagle Link. Recommendation letters must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. March 14.  Applications, letters of recommendation forms, criteria and instructions are available on Eagle Link

An optional virtual information session will take place from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. February 11. Click here to register.

The Hall of Fame recipients will be recognized at a ceremony at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 2, in the Cohen Student Union Ballroom, Room 203.

Student Success & Enrollment Management invites the FGCU community to nominate deserving colleagues for our annual Student Success Champion Awards.

These awards provide an opportunity to recognize and honor faculty and staff who have made outstanding and impactful contributions to student success throughout their time at FGCU. Please see the attached PDF for nomination details.

Complete the attached form and submit nominations to Tammy McCaslin via email at tmccaslin@fgcu.edu by 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 5.

Recipients will be recognized at the Celebration of Excellence Awards ceremony scheduled for April 23. Award recipients will be kept confidential until that time.

Dear FGCU Students,

The spring 2025 Eagle EXPO Open House takes place Saturday, February 15, and studen volunteers are needed to help the day run smoothly at the campus-wide event.

Volunteers are needed to help the Office of Admissions from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. to assist visitors throughout the day, including directing people from one location to another, greeting visitors and tracking participant attendance. This is a great opportunity for FGCU students to earn service-learning hours.

Students who are interested can fill out this volunteer registration form. 

Volunteers will be assigned a specific volunteer task at Eagle EXPO. Thank you for your support with this important event. Please direct questions to Tami Tassler at ttassler@fgcu.edu.
