TAA Workshop - Harnessing the Power of AI: An Exploration of AI Tools for the Next Generation of Research
Register for the FGCU Virtual Workshop, “Harnessing the Power of AI: An Exploration of AI Tools for the Next Generation of Research,” which will be presented by Avi Staiman on Tuesday, April 1 from 1-3 p.m. EST.
This workshop is being offered at no cost to you and includes an annual membership in the Textbook & Academic Authors Association (TAA), a 501c3 nonprofit that provides the support, knowledge, and opportunities authors need to succeed in their writing pursuits. If you are already a TAA member, your membership will be renewed. TAA is a co-sponsor of the workshop.
About This Workshop
In this hands-on workshop, you'll learn to understand and master the transformative
power of artificial intelligence (AI) in research. Delve into the top AI tools available
to researchers (including Scite, Elicit, SciScholar and more) and learn practical
use cases demonstrating how these tools enhance efficiency, accuracy, and novelty
in research. It will cover topics like AI-assisted data analysis, simplified literature
review, predictive modeling, and more. Gain a comprehensive understanding of the AI
landscape in research, including how to select and leverage the right AI tools to
augment your research processes and outcomes. This workshop is a must for forward-thinking
researchers looking to stay at the forefront of their fields.

AI Literacy: Starting the Conversation
Facilitated by: Bill Reynolds: Director, Lucas Center for Faculty Development
Mary Banks: Associate VP and Chief Information Officer
Leandro de Castro Silva: Program Director, Dendritic Institute; Professor of Computing and Data Science
Vinod Ahuja , Assistant Professor of Computing and Data Science
We invite you to join us in the Lucas Center for a conversation on AI literacy. Faculty and students are using AI in increasingly diverse ways, but we don't have a common understanding about what is appropriate use and what our responsibility as faculty should be for understanding AI and integrating it into our teaching. At this session facilitators will share ideas about how other institutions are promoting AI literacy and solicit feedback and examples of AI use from participants to better inform future professional development offerings.
