What is Finest of the Flock?
Finest of the Flock provides a method for peer-to-peer acknowledgement of achievements by staff, and a means for publicly announcing such accomplishments to the University community.
Who can be Nominated?
- A&P Staff Members
- SP Staff Members
A staff member who is being recognized should exceed the employee’s normal job responsibilities to the best of the nominator’s knowledge.
How to Nominate?

Those nominated for Finest of the Flock will:
- Be recognized verbally prior to the beginning of the SAC meeting, if present.
- Be recognized with a certificate highlighting their nomination.
Nomination Dates & Deadlines:
- Nominations due last Friday before Monthly SAC meetings. Please see SAC schedule here.
- Nominations recognized monthly during SAC meeting.
Election of Winners:
From the full group of nominees, one will be chosen as that month’s Finest of the Flock Spotlight Winner. The voting members of the SAC Employee Recognition Committee will consist of FGCU staff members who are also current SAC Representatives. A voting member who is also a nominee for Finest of the Flock may not participate in that month’s voting. For more information, please refer to the official rules.
Finest of the Flock Spotlight awardee will receive:
- A framed Finest of the Flock certificate.
- A lapel pin, FGCU Dining tumbler, and SoVi Dining meal passes.
