Honors Contracts in Courses (HCC)
Honors Contracts offer research experiences by providing students the opportunity to work closely with faculty mentors.

Criteria
Course Type
An Honors Contract combines academic interests of a student and goals of the faculty member. It should not be written individually by either party. Therefore, the student must contact the professor no later than the first two weeks of classes of the semester about pursuing a contract. Students can also plan ahead of the semester in which a contract is to be executed by meeting with their professor. However, the contract must be in a course for which the student is enrolled.
Enrollment
Faculty who intend to incorporate an Honors contract in their upper level course can use the enrollment link below at the beginning of the semester. Please note that student enrollment must be initiated by the faculty member. In order to expedite the contract application, the submission workflow is now changed to a streamlined approach. Please use the link below and follow the instructions.
Fall 2024 Deadline: September 13, 2024 (PASSED)
Reporting
Faculty can report student outcomes at the end of a semester using the link below. Please note that the student must receive a 'B' or higher in the course and complete the embedded component for honors credit.
Contract Restrictions
-
Honors Contracts are expected to be intensive. Therefore, a student can only complete one contract per semester.
- Honors Contracts may be submitted in upper-division courses only (level 3000+ courses)
- Courses from the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences and School of Nursing are not eligible for Honors Contracts. Students are advised to use an Honors Embedded Course (HEC) instead.
