Dr. Ece Alim is a distinguished researcher and educator with expertise in Medical School, Human Anatomy and Physiology, and Pharmacology. She currently serves as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Medical Sciences at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU), where she contributes to the Department of Biological Sciences through teaching and research. Dr. Alim holds dual Ph.D. degrees in Health Sciences with a focus on Human Anatomy and Pharmacology & Toxicology.

Her academic career spans roles at prestigious institutions, including Gazi University, School of Medicine in Turkiye and the University of California School of Medicine, San Diego. Dr. Alim has made significant contributions to the fields of neuroanatomy and nanotechnology-based cancer therapies, authoring numerous peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. She is a recognized leader in the study of the gut-brain axis and neurodevelopmental disorders, and she has received accolades such as the Prof. Dr. Atilla Müftüoğlu Young Researcher Award, Dr. Club Award (Innovative Basic Sciences Doctor of the Year Category), Doctorclub, 2021.
