Dr. Snook studies the psychology of violent extremism (including terrorism) with a focus on the role of motivational processes, belief systems, meaning, and social cognition. Dr. Snook's research has been funded by the American Psychological Association, University of Pennsylvania's Positive Psychology Center, Johns Hopkins University, Templeton Religious Trust, and others. His current projects explore how variables like intellectual humility, need for meaning, fundamental world beliefs, belief change, and collective narcissism relate to violent extremism.
