SaBelle McHenry
FGCU has gone above and beyond to offer me the best education and most training I could get. They make getting a teaching job easy.
SaBelle McHenry is a Florida native who loves to dance. However, these days it’s more likely to be her elementary-school students keeping her on her toes. She likes the little ones best, so before she even graduated she secured a letter of intent to teach kindergarten or first grade in Palm Beach County.
It’s not just the academic aspects of teaching that appeal to SaBelle. She’s also passionate about creating well-rounded citizens who lift society up as a whole. After all, the interactions you begin having in school are what drive your interactions in the future. So she’s especially focused on reaching out to students who don’t have high-quality opportunities to learn and grow handed to them easily.
Outside of her studies, SaBelle is also a member of Kappa Delta Pi, the education honors society. She volunteers with children. And she hangs out with the tight-knit group of friends who have shared her journey in the College of Education. So it never moves too far from teaching or children for SaBelle, which is just the way she likes it. She’s becoming every bit as passionate and committed to her profession as the professors who taught her.
