Blocks 1 & 2 Field Experience

Engage in a Transformative Field Experience

Upon admission to a College of Education undergraduate program, students can engage in a transformative Field Experience (Block 1 & Block 2) spanning two semesters. This immersive opportunity, lasting 8-10 weeks each semester on Wednesdays, allows students to gain hands-on expertise in a classroom environment with the support of a mentor teacher and university supervisor. For those enrolled in courses with a field experience component, placement applications are required. COE students are then assigned to schools that best match their placement needs, while others receive a list of Partner Schools and arrange their own visits for assignments. After the application period, students may contact their COE advisor for further guidance.

FGCU College of Education Blocks 1 & 2 Resources

All students taking Block 1 or Block 2 courses with a field experience component must apply for a placement. COE students will be assigned to a school where they report each Wednesday to complete course requirements and field tasks. Education minors will be provided with a list of Partner Schools with the expectation that they will arrange their own school visits for course assignments. Once the application is closed, please contact your COE advisor.
