Department of Justice Studies

Your internship experience is one of the most rewarding experiences that you will ever have as you complete your Justice Studies Degree. Learning outside of the classroom is an essential component of your education and one way this opportunity is afforded is through our internship program. The internship will allow you the opportunity to apply the wealth of knowledge that you have gained from taking courses in the Justice Studies program. The internship is a time in which you will be able to combine theory and practice. 

The Department of Justice Studies’ Bachelor of Science degree programs in Criminal Justice and Legal Studies are available through distance learning as well as on campus in the College of Arts & Sciences. Students with an AA degree, or transfer credits from another college or university, can complete the upper division courses (60 credit hours) online. These degrees are offered online to assist professionals that may be on shift work, or have work and family obligations that preclude their attending campus courses.

Distance Learning at FGCU

INSTRUCTIONS: On the first day of the semester, log in to Canvas at http://canvas.fgcu.edu using your Eagle email user name and password. Your Internet courses are listed on your Canvas "Home Page" under "Courses." If a Canvas course is not listed:

1. The professor has not yet opened the course to allow student access. Contact your professor OR
2. You have very recently registered for the course. You will need to wait several hours after you register before the course shows up in Canvas for you.

If you are experiencing problems with Canvas, first consult the Canvas help page by clicking "Help" at the top right of the Canvas page. From the help page you may search the Canvas guide for answers to your questions, or if you are experiencing technical problems, you can submit a support ticket from the page on which you have encountered the problem.
